The small cosy lodge with the familiar unique atmosphere

The Eräkeskus Wilderness Lodge & Huskyfarm is situated in North-Carelia, Eastern FInland, 3 km outside the small village of Nurmijärvi, facing the same named lake, about 30 km away from the city of Lieksa, just 15 km away from the Russian Border.

The closest airports are: Joensuu 130 km, Kuopio 180 km or Kajaani 180 km

You can also reach us by train, bus or car.

Eräkeskus was built in 1986 and taken over by our company in 2003. The buildings were under part-renovation the years 2003, 2006 and 2010.  We are surrounded by forests, lakes, rivers and swamps.

Eräkeksus is the perfect place for your indiviudal or guided activity holiday.

summer: biking and hiking on marked trails, for example the 130 km long "Karhunpolku" (Bears Trail), paddling and kayaking on the rivers Jongunjoki, Lieksanjoki and in the Ruunaa-area, fishing in lakes Nurmijärvi, Puuruujärvi or in the nature resorts of Änäkäinen or Ruunaa. We organise also whitewater rafting or riding.

winter: sleddogs, sleddogs, sleddogs... suitable programs for everybody! Different lengths and difficulty levels. skiing and snowshoeing is possible also, as well as overnights in wilderness cabins. Check out our programs and let us know your wishes.

In the Main building we have our restaurant, where brekafast buffet, lunch and a 3-course-dinner is served. Here you find as well an open fire place, sauna, lounge and bar, our library and a tv-corner.
